Remove PDF metadata
Clean hidden document properties before you share a PDF. The original never leaves your device.
What this cleaner reaches
Office suites and PDF editors commonly store an author, organization-specific custom fields and an XMP packet alongside the visible pages. This tool removes those document-level fields. It deliberately does not promise to erase text printed on a page or EXIF embedded inside a photograph.
Frequently asked questions
What metadata is removed?
Title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, custom Info fields and the catalog XMP packet.
What is not removed?
Names visibly printed on pages and metadata stored inside embedded photographs are not changed.
Is the PDF uploaded?
No. Inspection, cleaning and the download all happen in your browser.
Why do the new dates change?
PDF date fields cannot be omitted reliably by pdf-lib, so they are replaced with the time the clean copy is created.
