Why merge PDFs in the browser?
PDFs are often the most sensitive files people handle online — contracts, invoices, ID scans, medical records. Most "free PDF merger" sites upload your documents to their servers to process them. This one does not: the merge runs on your own device with the open-source pdf-lib library, and the result is assembled without your files ever crossing the network.

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. Merging happens entirely in your browser using the open-source pdf-lib library. Your documents never leave your device — important when they contain contracts, IDs or financial data.
Is there a limit on file count or size?
No artificial limits. Because your own device does the work, you can merge as many PDFs as your browser memory allows — dozens of typical documents are no problem.
Can I control the page order?
Files are merged in the order they appear in the list. Add them in the order you want, or remove and re-add a file to move it to the end.
Do password-protected PDFs work?
Encrypted PDFs that require a password to open cannot be merged. Remove the password first, then merge.
Will the merged PDF keep its quality?
Yes. Pages are copied as-is, with no re-rendering or recompression — text stays sharp and searchable.
