Why merge PDFs in the browser?
PDFs are often the most sensitive files people handle online — contracts, invoices, ID scans, medical records. Most "free PDF merger" sites upload your documents to their servers to process them. This one does not: the merge runs on your own device with the open-source pdf-lib library, and the result is assembled without your files ever crossing the network.
How to combine PDF files in order
- Add the PDFs in the order you want them to appear.
- Review the list and remove any file that does not belong.
- Merge the documents, then download the combined PDF.
Pages are copied into the result rather than turned into screenshots, so selectable text and the original page dimensions are retained. The output has no shrink.run watermark.
What can you merge into one PDF?
Combine a cover letter with a résumé, join invoice batches, put signed contract pages back together, or collect several reports into one file for email. Photos need to become PDF pages first; use the JPG, PNG or WebP to PDF tools before merging them with another document.

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. Merging happens entirely in your browser using the open-source pdf-lib library. Your documents never leave your device — important when they contain contracts, IDs or financial data.
Is there a limit on file count or size?
No artificial limits. Because your own device does the work, you can merge as many PDFs as your browser memory allows — dozens of typical documents are no problem.
Can I control the page order?
Files are merged in the order they appear in the list. Add them in the order you want, or remove and re-add a file to move it to the end.
Do password-protected PDFs work?
Most of them do. A PDF that opens in any reader but is marked “no editing” carries an owner password only; that lock is taken off on your device as the file is read, the tool tells you it happened, and the merge goes ahead. One that asks for a password before it will open cannot be read here at all, and there is nowhere on this site to type a password in. Remove it in your usual reader, save a copy, then merge that.
Will the merged PDF keep its quality?
Yes. Pages are copied as-is, with no re-rendering or recompression — text stays sharp and searchable.
