Preview the first page and apply the same margins to every page
The crop changes what readers show, but it does not securely erase content outside the page boundary. Use Redact PDF when information must be removed.
Crop a PDF in four steps
- Choose the PDF.
- Use the first-page preview to set top, right, bottom and left margins.
- Check that the green rectangle contains everything you want to keep.
- Crop all pages and download the new visible page bounds.
Cropping is not redaction
A crop changes the viewing window while preserving normal PDF text, vectors and links. That is ideal for removing scanner borders or whitespace, but not for hiding a name, account number or address. Content outside a PDF crop box can remain recoverable. For sensitive information use Redact PDF, which rebuilds the output without the original page objects.
Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The first-page preview and the new crop boxes are produced inside your browser.
Does cropping permanently delete hidden content?
No. A PDF crop box tells readers which part of a page to show, but a capable editor may restore content outside it. Use Redact PDF when information must be removed.
Are the same margins used on every page?
Yes. Percentages adapt to different page sizes and are applied to every page in the document.
Will links and selectable text survive?
Yes. The page boundary changes without turning the document into an image.
